Job Title: Waste & Recycling Project Lead
Job Overview:
We are looking for a Project Lead to spearhead the transformation of our waste and recycling arrangements, set to roll out in early 2025. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of a pivotal change initiative, ensuring that our operational teams are well-informed, engaged, and effectively contributing to the project's success. As the Operations and Change Lead, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our operations, procurement, supply chain and other key stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to gather and communicate feedback from the site teams, ensuring their voices are heard and their insights are incorporated into the project’s evolution. You will be the project team’s eyes and ears at the site level, ensuring smooth coordination and effective collaboration across departments.
You will also be responsible for collecting and analysing feedback and best practices, contributing to continuous improvement. Regular updates will be required to keep the wider team informed of project progress and outcomes.
Your success will depend on your ability to deliver clear communication, effective communication and training, and targeted support to site teams, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.

Location: National Field Based
Contract Type: 6 months FTC
You’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the completion of the project change impact assessment by conducting gap analysis
- Translate the outputs of the analysis to support the creation of the business change approach
- Input into developing the training, readiness and communications plan leading the development and delivery of the supporting activity across the lifecycle of the projects
- Translate change into easy-to-understand messages for our Operations team
- Support in the administration of the operational activity, liaising with sites and the project team to ensure maximum engagement
- Delivery of communications, training, and support to our operational site teams, following a pre-determined plan
- Work closely with external suppliers to ensure performance is in line with SLA’s, escalating any emerging issues
- Provide structured feedback on in site activity to make improvements and capture lessons learnt to inform the follow up and support plan
- Provide 1st line support to site teams during project implementations, through phone calls, Teams, email and site visits where required
- Capture and feedback site ways of working and best practice observations to the Project team
- To work closely with stakeholders to highlight issues and concerns over adoption of the new ways of working, and incompatible practices
Minimum Skills/Experience Required:
- Project process and management experience
- Ability to manage a project end-to-end, assign and manage work activities, meet deadlines and develop project management reporting in a timely and effective manner
- Experience of building and implementing business change initiatives
- Understands the operational challenges of embedding a new process and can challenge and support
- Ability to communicate in a compelling and clear way, both written and verbal
- Good organisational, training, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Strong influencing and networking skills, able to challenge the status quo
- Ability to identify risks and effectively communicate them in a timely manner
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Powerpoint and capable of creating presentations is essential
- Must have a valid driving license
