Management at Whitbread
Whilst on the programme, you will be developed in both the technical and behavioural aspects of the role you are aspiring towards. The programme will be made up of ‘on the job’ training, off-site and virtual workshops, as well as regular reviews with your Line Manager. The programme examines leadership styles and behaviours, commerciality, people management and management responsibilities. Here’s Duty Manager Ella to tell you about her time on the course.
Step 1
Initially Team Members wanting to apply for the programme need to express their interest to their Line Manager using the application form. Their Line Manager will then arrange a career conversation with the candidate about their development and determine which pathway is right for them i.e. either a Progressing Into Programme or Apprenticeship.
Step 2
The candidate and Line Manager will then decide whether to continue with the nomination process. It is crucial that the Line Manager and candidate have an open and honest conversation about their development areas and whether this programme is right for them. The nomination needs to go to the HM who will then decide along with the MHM whether the Team Member is the right candidate for the programme.
Step 3
Once MHM endorsement is received the HM will then nominate the Team Member via the Microsoft Form link on AOL. The candidate will then be notified of their Cohort Welcome Call and receive access to the Progressing Into First Management programme tile, which will signal the start of their programme
Step 4
Once a Team Member has completed the programme, the candidate will be supported with finding their first management position within the business.
