Exam results days always bring into sharp focus the question ‘what’s next’?
After all, you leave school and the world awaits. Yet all too often you can end up in a job or a course that, for whatever reason, just doesn’t get the best out of you.
We want to change that. We believe you should be able to find a job where you can contribute, learn, progress and get paid well. To us, that’s a proper job. And a proper start to a career in hospitality with an apprenticeship.
Many organisations offer apprenticeships, but we really believe in them. Done properly, they can set people up for life. So don’t just look at the job and the apprenticeship, look at the company.
At Whitbread we value difference and have many examples of colleagues either beginning their career or having wider non-hospitality experience, developing themselves into highly successful managers of multi-million-pound sites supported by their apprenticeship journey.
Apprenticeships at Whitbread are at the heart of our training strategy and we are proud to be able to offer an apprenticeship for all our in our Premier Inn hotels and our restaurant brands, including our Management and Leadership programmes.
So, no matter when or where you join us in your career, you can continue your personal development through an apprenticeship.
Our bespoke curriculum goes above the standard apprenticeship criteria and we educate our apprentices on life and industry skills, developing them for future success with individually tailored programmes, meaning our apprentices receive industry-leading development in line with our in-role and career progression pathways.
Our programmes have been recently recognised as outstanding by the Learning Excellence Awards 2021 and we achieved the number one position in hospitality employers as measured by Rate My Apprenticeship through independent reviews by our apprentices in July 2021.

We know the value a proper job can bring. Financial freedom, independence, structure, security and a desire to progress. Plus, those handy life skills that won’t just be used in work, but throughout the years to come. Simple but often overlooked things like organisation, self-confidence, teamwork, the ability to communicate face-to-face and relationship building.
Things that you can only develop as quickly in an industry like ours. Take a look at our current roles and see where your Whitbread journey can take you.
