Meet Liz Wright

Our Delivery Manager  

 

I was searching for big opportunities and a business I could grow into and really shape my career. I saw Whitbread appear a lot when I was searching for opportunities. Initially my role was based around Costa, but when we sold the brand, I had the opportunity to take on a role transforming our IT and systems model. This was huge, and meant overseeing the whole process.

 

Initially I had a team of four, but this soon grew to 15 project managers reporting into me, working across Supply Chain and Network to name just a few areas. The amount of simultaneous projects means there’s not a dull moment, and there’s always progress to celebrate and drive forward.

 

Currently I’m one of the few leading women on the team, but I feel invested in and valued. There’s no signs of isolation or imposter syndrome slipping in. The company is doing everything they can to encourage and support more female applicants. Seeing this change, and thinking about where we could be in a few years is really exciting.

 

Career growth is what I came to Whitbread in pursuit of, and it really delivered. I just can’t wait to see where else we can take things.
