Head of Learning, Development and Inclusion

Salary: £110,000 - £120,000

Location: Dunstable (LU5 5XE) hybrid working, with at least 3 days onsite at our Dunstable campus.

Reporting to the Talent, Development & Inclusion Director, you’ll lead a team of L&D and Inclusion specialists and manage key external partnerships. You'll drive Whitbread’s L&D and inclusion strategies, creating development programs for top leaders and improving employee capabilities across our head office and operational sites. You’ll also spearhead our inclusion action plan to hit diversity targets and enhance our culture of inclusion.

Location: Dunstable (LU5 5XE) hybrid working, with at least 3 days onsite at our Dunstable campus.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and implement strategies for management, leadership, and diversity at Whitbread.
  • Create a framework for leadership and management training that aligns with business needs.
  • Lead L&D and D&I teams and manage external providers to enhance learning and inclusivity.
  • Design assessment tools and leadership models to support talent development.
  • Run leadership programs for senior and high-potential talent in line with our strategic goals.
  • Drive diversity targets, publish pay gap reports, and coordinate employee networks to advance the D&I strategy.

What we need:

  • Significant experience as an L&D leader gained within a large scale, customer facing organisation.
  • Proven track record in developing and influencing L&D strategy at Board level.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering management and leadership programs.
  • Strong D&I knowledge with a history of improving diversity and inclusion metrics.
  • Experience in line management, budget handling, strategy development, and report writing.
  • Dynamic problem-solving skills with the ability to implement effective solutions.
  • Skilled in managing stakeholders at all levels, especially senior leaders, to drive results.
