As the Commercial Lead for our UK hotel portfolio, you'll leverage your market expertise to shape and execute our commercial strategy. You will own a dynamic backlog of initiatives, driving collaboration and accountability across teams to maximize revenue. Join us to make a significant impact on our growth!

Reporting directly into our Head of Trading, you’ll will be at the heart of the commercial model, fostering collaboration across functional teams, to successfully execute strategic trading initiatives and act as the agent of commercial performance across the wider business.

Role:  Commercial Lead

Salary:  £60,000 - £75,000, plus up to 30% company performance-based bonus

Contract Type:  Full-Time and Permanent

Location:  Holborn, London (EC1N 2TD) and a hybrid way of working with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll have single accountability of revenue delivery for a portfolio of UK hotels - maximising volume, revenue and contribution.
  • You’ll Formulate a commercial strategy with specific objectives, across multiple markets within a portfolio.
  • You’ll Identify risks, mitigate issues and exploit opportunities, to maximise revenue delivery.
  • You’ll communicate trading performance across functional teams and the wider business at multiple levels, to foster collaboration, generate accountability, increase speed of decision making and execution.
  • You’ll create and have ownership of a prioritised backlog, detailing strategic and tactical activity, identified through monitoring of trading performance, incorporation of digital or commercial development initiatives, reacting to market and competitor activity.

 

What you’ll need:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, to lead, influence and create accountability with non-line management teams and colleagues, where multiple priorities need to be managed.
  • The Commercial Lead should be market experts (not execution specialists), guiding each of the teams/resource pools in the matrix organisation, through strategic and tactical initiatives, fostering collaboration, with an end-to-end view of revenue delivery performance.  This will necessitate an in-depth knowledge of their geographical portfolio, customer and competitor landscape.
  • To be successful, the Commercial Lead will need to be able to assimilate information from multiple sources and stakeholders (Pricing, Marketing, E-commerce, Digital Acquisition, Operations, Finance), often in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.  They should be able to draw their own conclusions, seeking guidance from peers and line manager where appropriate, translate this into insight and direction, or define themes/questions for further investigation (problem statements).
  • Self-motivated, curious, with the ability to work collaboratively, organising time and prioritising workload.
  • Evidence of proven commercial acumen and decision-making ability, with good financial awareness and numeracy.
